I had totally forgotten the Queen of the Sea Restaurant. I thought that it was on the next block east on Queens Blvd. (46-xx), because there was a large store front on that block, which I think is now an oriental catering hall.The QB identification would make sense, because there was a kosher deli on that block as seen in the picture. I also remember that it underwent an expansion from one store to two in the mid to late 1960's and closed up before my marriage in 1973. Wonder if the company was strictly a charter outfit. I think people start remembering things around age 7 or 8. That would mean that I starting remembering a lot of stuff around 1957. Never remember ever seeing one of those buses. Based on the two parked cars the company could have been defunct by then. Thank you for showing me that I am losing my mind, having grown up 2 and one half blocks from the restaurant. |
