Two pedestrian fatalities occurred within 5 blocks of my residence within the last two years. In both cases the pedestrian was proceeding across an intersection, within a crosswalk and with the traffic signal. One pedestrian was killed by a car making a left turn; the other pedestrian was killed by a car making a right turn.And I suppose those turning cars were screeching around the corner at 30+ MPH? |
