If you ask me, it's because you can't install a dedicated bus lane on New York Avenue without making it a one-way street between Farragut Road and ENY Avenue/Lincoln Road, but one could easily turn New York Avenue into a one-way street. However, north of Empire Boulevard, Rogers Avenue is much wider and the lights are better in sync. Would it make sense to run the B44 SBS on New York to Empire, then have it travel west on Empire to Rogers? |
