Many cities restrict deliveries to midnight to 6 AM. That is more inconvenient. A three hour restriction is not asking too much from the merchants. The Fulton Street Mall was conceived with all deliveries restricted to 7PM to 7AM. That's why the street was narrowed with delivery zones added. It was supposed to cut bus travel times. Because the merchants refused to abide with this project which took 17 years to plan, it turned out to be a waste. Instead of bees dodging cars, they now have to dodge delivery trucks at all hours in the bus lane so buses move no faster than before the mall. |
