They say about 20% of the ridership is bound for the airport, so at worst, it would be a 20% service reduction. (From 10 minutes to 12 minutes off-peak)Then again, it says the reason for the hearing is because Q33 route miles would be decreased by over 25%. There might be an issue with overnight service, though (Would this route run overnight?). Right now, the Q33 works perfectly with 2 buses and 30 minute headways, and with the lack of traffic on the streets at that time, it wouldn't be too slow. Of course, the problem is that it doesn't serve Woodside, but if you cut the headways back to 40 minutes, you could still run it with 2 buses. It's better than having it run every 60 minutes, which is what I could picture happening if it doesn't serve LGA. |
