I agree that airports are oftentimes overestimated for demand, and that the focus on airline passengers is generally misplaced. I see modest demand for this service, but probably not enough to sustain a full-time service. During rush hours, reverse-peak buses could use the B.Q.E. to provide an express service, but I just don't see much offered by express off-peak service. The good aspect of the plan is that it serves the Woodside LIRR station, which greatly improves transportation for LGA employees living in Nassau County. But that improvement could have been made more simply by extending the Q33 from 74th Street to 61st Street (and to keep net costs neutral, perhaps truncating the Q53 at 74th Street).
