I guess it [she? he?, it is a better pronoun] couldn't use a Transpass because SEPTA marks them with gender stickers [Green=male, Orange=female]. SEPTA has done this for as long as they had passes though recently, they have gotten into major trouble with Gay rights groups over the stickers. The kerfluffle started when a driver or cashier refused entry to a tranney [er, transgendered person] holding a Transpass. The driver/or cashier noticed that the passenger had a pass marked female, but one look at the holder proved otherwise [Adam's Apple], and then we're off to the victims' media circus.This person probably didnt pay the fare because the drivers didn't want to get into a hassle with him/her/it. All of this will be rendered moot when the NPT [Smart Card] goes into effect later next year [2013]. |
