A blowout is typically a rapid loss of air from a wheel, usually after running over something or a road puncture. It has little do do with overfilling, not sure if that was what you were implying. A tire explosion occurs with either overfilling severely or fully engulfed fires where the wheel material gets so hot the air does increase, sometimes with hundreds of PSI, causing the tires to explode, sometimes with the steel or aluminium wheels themselves. A blowout while in of itself being dangerous is usually compounded by panic emergency stopping or completely letting up on the gas which puts more weight on the empty tire and prevents steering compensation. Properly done, stepping on the gas while easing back into the lane gets the truck straightened out and ready to ease off the roads |
