The Nova isn't what it's cracked up to be. Sure, the ride is smooth, but when I was an infant, I was smooth, too.
As usual, no one that OPERATES the bus had ANYTHING to do with the DESIGN.
1) It's NOT a true Artic. The center "turntable" sin't a turntable at all. The front is rigid and only the rear rotates, so it turns like a 39' U-Haul truck with a trailer on a ball and hitch coupling.
2) Operator's side mirror can NOT be cleaned or manually adjusted from inside the bus. In a snowstorm, if the mirror isn't heated (it's not), how does it get cleared of snow? The B/O secures the bus, GETS OUT, WALKS AROUND THE FRONT, CLEARS THE SNOW OFF, THEN gets back in the bus!
Lose power to the remote mirror control? Better get help to MANUALLY adjust it!
3) Same drivers' side mirror is mounted way LOWER than New Flyer models. How is this bad? New depots (Tuskegee and Mother Clara Hale) have ramps to go up and downstairs. The ramp guardrail is at the EXACT height of the stupid mirror!
4) The bad guy Dutch door: weighs a metric TON! If not closed, it can (and does) SLAM closed, knocking the stuffing out of anything in its way! Also closes all by itself on ankles! OUCH!

Leave it to say, the new New Flyer will be a HIT with the B/O's!
