Although great architecturally, it is totally inefficient by today's standards in terms of its use of space which made it impractical in the initial design of the new Terminal 5 AFAIK it WAS part of the initial design of the new Terminal 5. It was to be an ancillary entrance into the new Terminal. Most people would not use it as it is out of the way so it's not a big deal if it couldn't handle the total expected flow of passengers into the new terminal. |
