Those buses were equipped with 6V-71's, but because some of the
5500's were used for express service, Blitz installed a 4-5/8
rear axle ratio which gave the bus a 4.82 final drive ratio.
This allowed these buses to travel at a higher speed then the other
Blitz buses. I am sure that the operators that drove these buses
out of Hudson and Ulmer Park Depots would agree that those 5500's
that were used at Yukon were fast buses. BTW, 5500-5527 were 5309's,
5528-5576 were 5310's--It was this group that were fast.
5556 (fire) and 5567 (traffic accident) were both destroyed.
