Contrary to popular belief, the jitneys do NJT a favor - they provide the excess capacity that they cannot.The 190 and 156 (159 also) print money - basically they are money makers because of the areas they serve, which justifies the frequency. Sure, they could carry a few more people, but to take everyone off those jitneys and put them on a NJT bus means leaving people on the street. NJT simply does not have the resources to do it all - even mgmt. has said this previously. |
