Yesterday and today (still going on presently) the (4) subway line was out for track/ signal work from 161st up to Woodlawn. Many passengers took the nearby (D) line but from Bedford Park to Woodlawn, shuttle buses operated. It was especially neat seeing the seldom seen (in this neighborhood) CNG buses, and even neater, the new NF C40LF's; those are clear faves of mine, hand down.
As if that weren't enough, NYPD and Parks Dept set up along the Grand Concourse barricades in anticipation of a street parade today, which ran from about noon to 4pm. So, the shuttle buses had to run special detour routes as did the Bx26. When the street parade began the detours were themselves detoured!
Here's a set of pix from yesterday, followed by some today, including shots from my apartment window on the GC, the Bx 26 using the Bedford Park underpass and the shuttles on Mosholu pkwy, Bedford Park and Bainbridge Ave.
