Care to elaborate on these studies?The RPA's Urban Space for Pedestrians by Boris Pushkarev & Jeffery Zupan is still the standard used by the NYCDCP for pedestrian trip generation. P&Z determined an average trip length of 1,720 feet. Table 2.11 (p. 46) breaks it down by age and gender; males age 25-50 had an average trip length of 2,044 feet. Also, the NYC Environmental Quality Review Technical Manual requires transit analysis if a subway station or bus route is within half a mile of a proposed project that would generate 200 or more transit trips. |
