NYCT and FDNY have the same system for handling accidents: "The only truly preventable accident is when you are struck directly from behind". But charging their operators with an accident as "preventable", no matter how wrong the other driver is in reality, means the agency will automatically lose the inevitable lawsuit. "If your driver was right, then why did you discipline him?" |
