Posted by Gold_12TH on Thu May 17 18:54:32 2012 Community Board 4's Transportation Planning Committee has recommended that the permit for Megabus to run curbside pickup at the Port Authority Bus Terminal be denied.A meeting was held on Wednesday at Fulton Auditorium in Chelsea. Approximately a dozen people showed up. By a 5 to 2 vote, the committee recommended that the full board vote to deny the renewal of the permit on June 6. The board's recommendation is purely advisory, but DOT has previously said it would listen to what the community wanted. Megabus picks up passengers near the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. The Port Authority says the long lines and traffic have created safety and crowding problems.
