First, regarding the 93, will the extended 99 take over part of that route? NJT hasn't released intricate details yet of these changes.

With the 62, I've advocated for years breaking this route up. It serves SIX NJT rail stations (Metropark, Woodbridge, Rahway, Linden, Elizabeth-Broad St., and Newark-Penn Station), so naturally very few are going to ride the entire route from one of the two southern branch ends, and Newark. They could split it by running a 800-series route serving both southern branches of the 62, running from Woodbridge Mall to Perth Amboy via Rahway, and terminating the current 62 at Rahway. It isn't clear whether they will split the 62 route in Elizabeth, or wherever, but if the object is to provide 24-hour service to Newark Airport from as many points as possible, then the line needs to run as far south as possible, well south of Elizabeth. Or are they assigning different numbers to the two branches south of Rahway?

Next, about the 78 -- I don't that there's much of an alternative for these passengers, but if just a couple of years ago it rated an express service (the 378), then why is it now totally expendable? Why don't they mention the 378 in the cuts, or will express service survive?

As mentioned before, the 43 line could be perceived to duplicate much of the #1 line between Newark and Jersey City. But the 43 does take a different route, serving I believe a USPS facility in Kearny. Perhaps ridership was suffering as the USPS is?

With the 451, it may intitially be surprising they are cutting the portion of the route between a major shopping area and a PATCO station. It is said that the 451 is duplicated by PATCO. But in reality, PATCO doesn't stop at the Voorhees Town Center (formerly the Echelon Mall). It flies right by between the Ashland and Lindenwold stations. There are small private shuttles connecting Ashland with the Voorhees Town Center. The 403 and 459 lines still do serve both Voorhees Town Center and Lindenwold PATCO, so I guess if the connections are well coordinated, this cut is not all that bad.

In Trenton, the 604 segment to be eliminated appears to be along the route anyhow, so probably they will just cease stopping at the Justice Complex. The Trenton Transit Center and East Trenton segments will survive, as will a connection downtown with all the other 600-series routes, and it's only a few blocks walk to the Justice Complex from there.
