My understadnign is that WMATA has had a reserve fleet in the past. Back when NYCTA borrowed/rented the 150 WMATA buses, I recall reading that they were part of WMATA's reserve fleet. I remember the article stating that the buses were in storage and the week or so prior to them heading to NYC, WMATA mechanics were working on the buses to get them ready. |
