So they keep track of that route if it has B/Os constantly having to hold for the schedule, and then send it out to the scheduling department to see if corrective action needs to be taken. That doesn't require BusTime. Yeah, dispatch would be the one watching the screens, and then if they see a problem, they should have it investigated (to make sure it isn't a stop where there's a heavy load of passengers that's slowing down the buses, or something similar like a traffic condition). I don't follow. Why do they need to watch BusTime and why do they need to investigate? If the delay is due to dispatch holding an early bus, then they know the reason already. And if it's not due to dispatch holding an early bus, then they know that it must be a problem, and when the bus passes the next dispatcher or whomever along the route, the guy will note that the bus is late and ask the driver for the reason. So what is BusTime needed for with respect to this discussion thus far? |
