About time, I am tired of looking at these ugly vanhools everyday. The order is for (65) 40ft Gillig Advantage with Cummins ISL and Allison B400 tranny. When these are on AC Transit's property, they will be the only Gilligs in the fleet again since the 2002/2004 Gillig Phantoms were transferred to MV Transportation for the DB Express Lines in December 2011. This would be the first ACT hasn't had a Gillig in their fleet since they first got them in 1982(1982-2011).

Gillig which is in Hayward, CA is two cities away from AC's headquarters in Oakland, Ca. While Vanhool is tens of thousands of miles away, the delivery cost alone is too costly and takes days than Gillig's delivery time of about 30 minutes.
