Posted by Osmosis Jones on Thu Nov 24 17:01:04 2011, in response to Re: ''New'' Brooklyn Bus Map . . ., posted by B49 Limited on Thu Nov 24 16:26:21 2011. 1) The Franklin Shuttle is going to get shutdown for rehab. It'll probably be replaced with a shuttle bus or the B48, still eliminating the need for a Bedford Avenue bus. 2) As much as people don't like a Bedford Av bus, there are many people who prefer to ride Bedford Av than Flatbush or Nostrand Avs. And yes during peak hours you do get SRO in that portion of the route. The B49 still doesn't come close to the B41 or B44 in terms of ridership, and is definitely the most expendable route among the 3. 3)I did post here there is a difference in ridership bet ocean Av riders vs Bedford Av riders. Keep a bus on Bedford has potential. I don't think many people will shift to the B 44 or B 49 (Ocean Av) but when SBS gets implemented we might see a shift in travel trends. I guess, but it's a bit wasteful and the resources could be better used. But in this model lets get the people better prepared for those changes and having the B 48 to Flabush/Foster, the MTA can test to keep it or slowly fade it away. Alright I can agree with that. |
