Yes, BRT is going to affect traffic but I don't see why they can't use the parking lane without taking a lane of traffic. That was their original plan. They were only supposed to take a traffic lane in a few instances when there was no other choice. Now they seem to use the parking lane just to build out the bus station and insist on using a traffic lane even where it isn't justified. They have also presented conflicting info. On Nostrand Avenue below Avenue X the exclusive lane for buses is either 24 hours, only between 7 and 10 AM and 4 to 7 PM or only the morning rush hour depending on which document or presentation you look at. They don't even know themselves what they want.Yes I am talking about the LIRR freight line, perfect for BRT or Light Rail. While the SAS gets plenty of news coverage and even the #7 extension, no one talks about East Side Access.
