The key difference is that those people are headed to Manhattan. NJ Transit routes like the 163, 164 and 190 are VERY well patronized on weekends (often with standees) and those routes wind through some pretty well-to-do areas (especially Ridgewood and Glen Rock).Local travel on those routes are generally done by those without ready access to a car. But even still, I've known a few people who travel or commute within Bergen County by bus from time to time even though they have access to a car. |
