As long as Cory Booker is mayor of Newark, I don't see why this project can't go forward. Granted, a lot of the push for the BRT network has to come from NJT which isn't going to be as easy due to the state-wide budget issues (which was the reason they scaled back funding for the proposed Camden-Glassboro LRT line that the Corzine administration promised - for now).

Mayor Booker has a vision for Newark which is slowly coming to fruition after years of Sharpe James' mismanagement and corruption. It certainly looks as though the BRT concept (even at the goBUS level that it's at now) will become a reality in a matter of a few years.
