Posted by Nyctransitman on Sun May 23 22:29:59 2010, in response to Re: Q 58 Limited, posted by Osmosis Jones on Fri May 21 16:05:02 2010. 111th Street (between 51st Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue) and Rossevelt Avenue (Between 111th Street and College Point Blvd. or Main Street works better than 108th Street and College Point Blvd. for the Q58/Q58 Route. 111th Street & Roosevelt Avenue routing would have the Q58/Q58 Limited bus pass numerous traffic generators such as Terrace On The Park, The Queens Zoo, The New York Hall Of Science and Citifield Stadium. This would be a boom for Queens and give Brooklyn and Queens passengers another viable option for heading to Citifield Stadium other than the IRT #7 Line!!! (See prior post below for routing details)I would suggest rerouting of the Q58/Q58 Limited east of Corona Avenue/108th Street to instead travel along 51st Avenue(S/B)/52nd Avenue(N/B) between 108th Street and 111th Street in Corona. I would then have the Q58/Q58 Limited travel along 111th Street between 51st Avenue(S/B)/52nd Avenue(N/B) and Roosevelt Avenue and have the Q58/Q58 Limited travel along Roosevelt Avenue between 111th Street and College Point Blvd. At College Point Blvd. the Q58/Q58 Limited would travel to 41st Road(N/B)/Sanford Avenue(S/B) to/from Main Street. On the Q58 Lmited route limited stops would be placed at 51st Avenue(S/B)/108th Street, 52nd Avenue(N/B)/108th Street, 51st Avenue(S/B)/111th Street (Terrace On The Park & Queens Zoo), 52nd Avenue(N/B)/111th Street (Terrace On The Park & Queens Zoo), 47th Avenue/111th Street(New York Hall Of Science), 111th Street/Roosevelt Avenue (IRT #7 Subway Line), CitiField/at Willets Point Blvd./Roosevelt Avenue, and 41st Road/Main Street. I would then suggest that MTA Bus extend the Q38 route from 110th Streeet/62nd Drive to 41st Road/Main Street, Flushing via 108th Street, Horace Harding Expressway, College Point Blvd., 41st Road(N/B)/Sanford Avenue(S/B) to/from Main Street. The Q38 route could replace Q58 bus service along a major stretch of College Point Blvd. so that the Q58 route could serve more key locations further increase ridership on that route. The Q38 route extension to Flushing would provide easier access for Middle Village, Rego Park and Forest Hills passengers to access Flushing. |
