(PICS), posted by GOLD_12th on Tue Feb 9 01:33:06 2010. Bus driver in Metro train collision suspendedThe bus driver suspected of running a red light and colliding with a Metro train Monday has been suspended without pay after being released from the hospital Monday night. Reginald Rideout, 50, who has been with Metro since 2000, will remain suspended until the completion of an investigation into the crash in downtown Houston, said Metropolitan Transit Authority spokeswoman Carolina Mendoza. It's unclear how long the investigation being conducted by local transportation officials could take, Mendoza said. Metro officials said on Tuesday that Rideout has been involved in three accidents during his employment, two of which were minor but deemed preventable. Nine people were injured in the accident that disrupted some Metro service until Monday evening, although none of the injuries were life-threatening. A preliminary investigation determined the bus, westbound on St. Joseph Parkway, ran a red light and collided with the train northbound on Main, according to Metro, which would release no further information because of the pending investigation.
