At an 11:00 P. M. news conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell and Penna. Congressman Bob Brady announced a tentative agreement in the SEPTA strike. If SEPTA management/board and the TWU Local # 234 Executive Committee agree tomorrow afternoon, transit service could resume by Saturday evening.

It would be a five year contract that includes a resolution to the conflict over seniority rights for maintenance workers. There would be slight increases every year in the worker's contribution to the pension fund. Further details will follow.
