At my company, when the layoffs hit, seniority meant NOT A FUCKING THING! In fact, the more senior you were, the more likely you were let go.Seniority is one of the biggest scams unions put over their members. Sometimes it is used to prevent more talented younger members from getting the better jobs and also it is abused by older employees who use it to practice "on the job retirement", especially when actual retirement is imminent. |
