Now, the ceiling signs on the NJT NABI buses are displaying the street names of the stops, as they approach them. This is in conjunction with the interior PA announcements of the stops. They will soon display all connecting bus/rail routes. This is common practice on SEPTA buses and trackless trolleys in Philly. SEPTA also displays the time and date every so often on the ceiling signs. It's scrolled across the electronic signs. I find that to be very helpful and want to see it on the new NJT NABI buses. Older NJT buses with ceiling signs only display fare paid or stop requests. I doubt the ceiling signs on the older buses will be retrofitted or updated.I also want major points of interest {schools, hospitals, etc.} to be announced and displayed on the new NABI bus ceiling signs. This too is common practice on SEPTA, among other transit systems. |
