They couldn't legally retire them until 2011 unless they returned a portion of the money used to buy them to the FTA.I had several hours in Albany today and got a quick ride on 9912 (they still took my SUNYCard with 6-year-old picture!) from UAlbany to Crossgates. After 18 months away from CDTA, I can safely say that the LFS's need something of an interior overhaul (especially the bulkhead, maybe also replace the seat cushions). I also saw one of Schenectady's Orion VI's (205X) on deadheading on the Thruway for an express run in its original scheme. |
