Posted by RIPTA42HopeTunnel on Thu Jul 2 13:53:37 2009, in response to Re: PHOTOS: How NYPD blocks a bus stop, posted by Newkirk Plaza David on Thu Jul 2 13:25:25 2009. Wrong, he broke the law. The agent observed a car parked at a bus stop with no one entering or exiting the vehicle. The law (4-08(c)(3)) says "No person shall stand or park a vehicle other than an authorized bus in its assigned bus stop when any such stop has been officially designated and appropriately posted except that the operator of a vehicle may temporarily stand therein for the purpose of expeditiously receiving and discharging passengers provided such standing does not interfere with any bus about to enter or leave such zone." The duration of "expeditiously" is not defined by the law, except pertaining to double parked commercial vehicles in 4-08(f)(1) (30 minutes). |
