Ok-1st and foremost-in response to 33rd Street-I think SOME of the 8600s will be staying at MJQ...FOR NOW. MJQ just received 3800-3831 from MHV...enough to displace SOME RTSs elsewhere but NOT ALL. In due time, the FLA 3900s are going to leave there. The reason-batteries. Then you will see the majority of those heading to Manhattan Division to displace even more RTSs...more or less likely eliminating the 8600s.At the same time, MTA Bus only placed an order of 105 Orion VII NGs. I agree they should've ordered some more. But perhaps in due time? I know how you feel about the 8600s-believe me. I like those buses too. I feel the same way about all of this nonsensical shuffling. But it needs to be done...I guess. And at least some of them are getting some extra life in them. |
