I don't get how the city allowed these two companies to become partners, because there's no 'competition' at all - CitySights matches the Gray Line routes and rates almost exactly. The pricing methods used by both of those sightseeing companies is worse than Disney. Individual tour rates are ridiculously expensive by design in order to convince the suckers ... er, tourists ... to spend another $15 to buy the multi-day on-off passes. Of course, once you've spent your money, you discover that the companies run the minimum number of coaches possible as you watch full bus after full bus pass you by unless you're getting on at Times Square or Battery Park. |
