At the moment the F and LX run a mix of 40 foot NOVA LFSes and RTSes. The L, C, REXB, and REXL are the other two routes which never see the D60LFs during normal semester schedules (the A, B, H, and EE all use or are wholly composed of D60LFs). During exam schedules and (IIRC) summer and winter semesters the L runs artics as the counterclockwise College Ave-Livingston-Busch line while the A handles the clockwise direction. The C is a parking lot shittle (or "Commuter Express" on Busch which operates with just one bus for the whole day and tends to use the worst RTS possible). The REXL and REXB are true express runs from Busch and Livingston campuses to Cook/Douglass, and really just need shorter headways rather than larger vehicles.

The LX tends to get more crowded than the L, mostly owing to the perception that it is faster because of its 'express' run on Rt18, but dwell times at Scott Hall, the SAC, and Beck Hall can make the LX a very long ride. Once the LX stops running at 7:00pm or so the L can become an extremely crowded bus, especially when there are basketball games at the RAC.

The F is generally not as crowded as its counterpart the EE, also perhaps due to the perception that the express run on 18 from College Ave to Cook/Douglass makes for a faster ride. But on the College Ave bound leg they follow nearly identical routes up to the Train Station until 8pm, when they follow the exact same route. It is common to see a College Ave bound F bus using an RTS or LFS packed to the gills followed a minute or two later by a College Ave-bound EE using a D60LF with a dozen passengers on it. Despite Nextbus displays to tell them a larger EE bus is just a minute behind the crowded F, kids at College Hall will still pack onto that F bus like it's the last bus of the day. Even if the F doesn't justify artics on the Cook/Douglass bound leg, it should be using them for the College Ave bound leg just to balance out with the EE's D60LFs. Shorter headways would also help the F, but I'd settle for higher capacity just to eliminate the mess an F leading an EE creates.
