Sure it could, it would work perfectly in the SBS application, being that you need as many doors as possible for boarding/alighting without paying on board the bus, would make things alot faster, which means decreased dwell times at all SBS stops, which means a faster ride overall. In terms of regular applications, however, it would be a little more difficult to deter fare evasion, unless each door was driver-controlled independently of each other, as per Westchester Bee-Line's artics versus a single door control as on NYCT's artics.
