I agree that real destination signs would have looked better and been more practical. Just curious, does anybody realize that it's a historic vehicle? I'll bet most passengers think it's just a bus. This probably goes for the people on the street too. I doubt many heads turn.Who would have thought, back when that GM fishbowl was new, that General Motors would be crawling on their knees to Washington for a hand-out to stay in business! I don't feel sorry for them one bit. They helped to make our society dependent on the automobile and oil, in most places. Perhaps New York City is one rare exception to that. However, even New York City has far too many automobiles. If GM wants the money, they should be forced to promote mass transit, build buses, trackless trolleys, light rail cars and subway cars. For example,why should thousands of NYC and PATH subway cars be built by foreign controlled companies? GM should also be forced to build plug-in electric hybrid automobiles. In my opinion, they have held back that technology for years, not furthered its advancement. |
