Not correct.

Aluminum wheels dissipate heat faster than steel wheels, so if MTA's buses were having pad issues, it wasn't due to the wheel material.

All of NJT's Flxible Metro Bs/Ds, Nova RTSes, and Neoplan artics were delivered with and still have aluminum wheels - it's not only the MCIs. All of the NABIs will use them as well. NJT hasn't taken delivery of a bus with steel wheels in over 20 years. Private companies receiving state buses have the option to change to steel if they wish (Academy does this).
