Plus the Brake Pads would wear out faster with the aluminum rims because of the over heating. NJT only uses aluminum rims on there MCI fleet since there more distance between stops give the pads time to cool off somewhat. Also on top of this the buses have transmission brakes as well to keep the from over heating. |
