Broward County Transit has shot up in the last few years (used to be well under 200), but the numbers are misleading, as they now purchase the local community buses for various Broward County cities. Even though they are painted up for the local cities, BCt buys them (for better economies of scale, I guess) and may own them, as the ones I've seen have county license plates instead of city that they used to have. They also apply their own numbers (usually MYYXX, with YY being the last 2 numberts of the year ordered), alongside whatever numbers the city in question. I think the cities actually operate their communities buses (either in-house or contractor). The actual number of buses that BCt runs on their own routes is just over 300.
