Posted by Mac5689 on Mon Oct 6 21:14:12 2008, in response to Suffolk Transit Bus Study Workshop, posted by Mac5689 on Sun Oct 5 00:39:51 2008. everyone is missing the point, since 1998 Suffolk Transit came a long way. in 1998 the S40 didn't run as late as it does now, the same with the S45. they made two routes (S71 and S76), because the need was there. they also extened routes because need is there. Sunday service is a good idea, but unless there is a total need, and i mean from almost everyone who takes Suffolk Transit, not from people on a board that feels that Suffolk Transit needs to keep with the times are because other Transit ops do it. i never heard a need for it. and why are u calling for Sunday service when there are a few routes that don't have Saturday service, or routes like the S61 that has buses taken off on saturdays???????but i think what this is all about is because back in July they had bus drivers record the number of people that got on the bus during a run. i don't think it has anything to do with Sunday bus service, or Metro cards. what prob will be discussed is bus route expansions or adding extra buses to the S92 or other routes. |
