Frankly, I think the New Flyer LFR trackless trolleys look nicer. These Diesel hybrids are really dull looking, especially with that paint scheme. Somehow on the trackless trolleys, it looks more sharp and modern. I see they lowered the back route number sign on the new hybrids. It no longer sticks up on the roof like a sore thumb or an after-thought.

While it is better than a straight Diesel in many ways, the ultimate would be for them to have automatic trolley poles on them. Just think of the possibilities! If we need to end our dependence on foreign oil in this country, we'd better start hanging lots of trolley wires. There's miles of streets in Philly that still are lined with steel poles that held up trolley wires from long abandoned trolley car lines.
