It's the same thing all year round, actually; The Bx9, as far as i know, goes up and down that hill in any weather, rain, snow, or shine. Any artic going up Kingsbridge Rd. struggles to get up there, especially in the winter. It's a pain. I sometimes wonder how they actually make it up there, especially with the load... When I attended nearby JFK high school years ago, I've heard stories of buses actually rolling backwards when the B/Os would let go of the brakes to proceed up the hill to Sedgwick Avenue.The O5s on the other hand, go up with a bit more ease. And when KB had the RTS 8800s being used for after school specials on the Bx9 would beat the Artics any day. |
