Bx9 Question

Today I paid a visit to Marble Hill (Nice mall!). On the Bx9, there is a hill (forget hill, it just goes up) and our bus barely made it up. We crawled up Kingsbridge Road at 3 MPH, with the A/C off and the engine giving all it's might.

I wonder, how does this work in the winter? Is service rerouted or is it cut all together?
