You're right. It wold have to be higher. Maybe $15?

The MCI D4500's would be replaced with Orion V CNG's and specially made low floor suburbans. Routes below a certain ridership threshold (ie QM22, X20) would be eliminated. Weekend express service would be cut except on the X1,X10,X17,X27,X28,QM1A,QM2,BxM2,and BxM7. The fare would be raised to $6. I think this is a fair compromise.

I don't think doing all that would bring the non-subsidized price down significantly. So $6 wouldn't cut it.
